THE OBJECT ISN'T TO MAKE ART, IT'S TO BE IN THAT WONDERFUL STATE WHICH MAKES ART INEVITABLE.

MIRROR WRITING

Mawadah's use of Muthanna mirror writing is a testament to her dedication and meticulous craftsmanship. Her unique approach to reversed calligraphy creates artworks that are both visually stunning and conceptually thought-provoking, uncovering hidden messages and unlocking the beauty within.

Mawadah's use of reversed script aligns with her exploration of new forms of expression and pushing the boundaries of calligraphy. By challenging the traditional orientation and arrangement of the script, she breaks free from conventional constraints and opens up possibilities for conceptual experimentation. This approach allows her to infuse contemporary ideas and themes into the ancient art form of calligraphy, contributing to the conceptual depth of her artworks.

A CALLIGRAPHIC JOURNEY

Through the exploration of mirror Arabic calligraphy in art, Mawadah was able to challenge traditional notions of legibility and readability. By intentionally distorting or manipulating the letters, they can create abstract compositions that prioritize aesthetics and visual impact over strict adherence to linguistic conventions. This experimentation pushes the boundaries of calligraphy as an art form, blurring the lines between written language and visual expression.

Reversed  Mirror calligraphy is a technique that challenges the norm, flipping the traditional script horizontally to create a mirrored image that adds a touch of creativity to any project. To create a reversed calligraphy typeface, I immerse myself in the traditional calligraphy forms and study the rules of Arabic script. I then let my imagination take over, experimenting with different shapes, proportions, and strokes to create a new typeface that is both aesthetically pleasing and legible. As I design the typeface, I pay close attention to the spacing between letters, the balance of the typeface, and the overall harmony of the design. I also consider the intended use of the typeface and how it will be used in different contexts.
